Intense!!!
So... I've been taking advantage of the complimentary PT sessions that come with signing up at the new gym. I hooked up with a rather interesting character, and after my physical assessment, he threatened me with 2 hours straight of intense weight sessions.
I scoffed lah, because. Hey. I watch the telly and do my weights and I can happily veg out a couple of hours doing it, ya? I told him that I could do it as long as I had something to occupy my mind. After all... boredom is just boring. Ya know?
Today, I turned up for our session about 15 minutes late (through no actual fault of my own, but as I had with me two little girls needing a baby sitter, I had to wait for the gym to provide a nanny while they were in the nursery...), and he swung me right into leg presses.
Wow.
Jelly legs. 4 sets, 20 reps each, ascending weight regime. Which basically means... I start out with a light weight, repeat 20 times of either lifting, pressing, curling, etc.... and then when I end a set, he ups the weight ante. Fuck me. It was hell, mostly on my knees.
And after that, it only got worse. Because I was late, I ended up doing my arm-workouts myself. Mostly. Major ouchness. OUCH.
I've got two very weak points in my body. Knee joints, and delts. Otherwise, I think I'm okay. As it is, my body isn't sore, so that's a huge plus. But I wobbled and tottered about for 2 hours after my workout, so it was a good one :)
SoulDoc and Whye Mun had a classical recital at the Wei Ling Art Gallery. Proceeds were to go to the SPCA. It was awesome, but I missed a good half of it because I was the designated Front Of House'er, and people were still trickling in at 9pm. I tucked into the sandwiches as Whye Mun wrapped up the show, and then took Da Doll to Delicious in Bangsar Village for supper.
Okay. Another unprecedented event, but I do believe I'm going to turn in before 3am tonight. The workout is such a miracle on my sleeping inclinations :)
